Laughter is the best medicine, so start the year off in good health by seeing Taylor Tomlinson perform live this month. Whether she’s delighting audiences as one of the youngest stand-up comedians headlining a tour or making people LOL through her hilarious Instagram captions, Tomlinson is a relatable 20-something woman who is quickly rising up on the comedy scene. See for yourself when she comes to Addison Improv Jan. 17-20!
Tomlinson’s comedy career began at 16-years-old, and she has “been letting stand-up slowly ruin her life ever since,” according to her website. She has been featured on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Conan, MTV’s Safe Word, Comedy Central’s Adam Devine’s House Party and NBC’s Last Comic Standing, where she was a top ten finalist on season 9. In addition, she was recently named a Top 10 Comic to Watch by Variety Magazine at the famous Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival.
Before you see her show in person, get a taste of Tomlinson’s jokes by watching her 15-minute special on Netflix called “The Comedy Lineup.” Here, she hysterically compares being in middle school to being in your 20s, makes fun of the ridiculousness of candid social media photos and talks about the daily struggles ladies go through. She is also one of the hosts of the podcast “The Self-Helpless Podcast,” which comes out every Monday.
Tickets for the show range from $15 to $27, depending on the showtime and seats, and are available online. Guests are also required to purchase two food items or beverages once seated. You can catch Tomlinson performing at 8 p.m. Jan. 17, 7:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. Jan. 18, 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Jan. 19 and 7:30 p.m. Jan. 20.
If you enjoy laughing at yourself, seeing the lighthearted side of serious topics and spending the evening with a woman who seems to just get you, then you don’t want to miss Tomlinson’s show!
