Living a healthy lifestyle is easy when you live in the Town of Addison, as all residents have access to the Addison Athletic Club! On Jan. 15, approximately 200 people attended the Addison Athletic Club’s Annual Open House to take tours, visit with wellness vendors, participate in class demonstrations and enjoy healthy refreshments.
The Open House was a three-hour event that included cooking and fitness demonstrations, CPR training, self-defense classes, blood pressure screenings, free giveaways and more. One of the biggest hits of the day was the brand new smoothie-blending bicycle!
Located at 3900 Beltway Drive in Addison, the Addison Athletic Club offers recreational, health, fitness and athletic programs for residents only. The 3,500-member club has indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a LifeFitness and Hammer Strength weight circuits, dumbbells, treadmills, electronic bikes, elliptical trainers, gymnasium, indoor track, aerobics studio, Whirlpoo spa, sauna and steam rooms, outdoor trails, tennis court and two racquetball courts.
Some of the winter class offerings include Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, which focuses on grappling techniques and self-defense; Cooking Class: Heart Month, which will cover healthy and easy, plant-based food; and Yoga Flow, which will improve your strength, flexibility, muscle tone and balance.
