As the year winds down, and the weather continues to get colder, what better way to spend a few days away than heading out to see the countryside and relax in a cabin. There’s something to be said about the fresh air that you breathe when you get outside of the city limits. It’s almost as if it’s crispier, and simply breathing it in starts to help you forget about all the stuff back home.
Imagine yourself sitting by the fireplace in a nice cozy cabin, sipping on hot chocolate after spending the day outdoors. It’s every holiday hallmark card you’ve ever seen. Sounds nice, doesn’t it?
Let’s start with probably what most people think about when they think ‘cabin getaway.’ Let’s head west to Colorado. Of course, perhaps one of the most well-known spots is Estes Park. This town serves as the welcome sign into the Rocky Mountain National Park. Estes Park offers lots of different options for your cabin getaway. Whether you want to be close to town or a bit further out and away from civilization, Estes Park is where you want to be. There are lots of different things to do including some that don’t have much to do with the outdoors. Tour the Rocky Mountains in a Jeep, or learn how to fly fish. Perhaps you just want to take in the views sitting by a warm fireplace? It’s all here. Visit Estes Park’s tourism website for more information.
Perhaps Colorado is not far enough and you need to completely be as far away as possible. May I suggest Cannon Beach? Voted as one of the 21 Best Beaches in the World by National Geographic and listed by People’s Choice for Oregon’s Best Romantic Getaway, Cannon Beach is stunning any time of the year. Rent one of the oceanfront cabins and listen to the waves crash on the beach. I can sit and listen to them for hours, it’s very relaxing. Of course, you can walk the beach and see one of the country’s natural wonders, Haystack Rock. The sunsets are indescribable and on a clear night, the sky lights up with so many stars it leaves you speechless. Make sure to check out the Cannon Beach website for more information and links to the different cabins you can rent for your stay.
For something a little bit closer to home, but just as spectacular, head west to toward the Texas Panhandle. Try Caprock Canyons where you can see Bison roam freely. They also offer horseback riding, fishing, and amazing hiking adventures. Check out Silverwind RV Park & Cabins for your stay. They offer a variety of cabins with prices that you cannot beat. And best of all, everything is right there next to Caprock Canyons State Park. Check out the Texas Parks and Wildlife website for more information on the park and Silverwind RV Park & Cabin’s website to book your stay.
