Holiday Appetizers To Go

Bring on the holiday parties! Company parties, family get-togethers, and the likes. As your resident foodie, I’m here to make your life a little easier and help you prepare for one of the busiest times of the year. Today we are talking about appetizers. While the focus of holiday dinners is usually the turkey or ham, the appetizers cannot and should not be overlooked. Here are some of our favorite appetizers for the holidays and where to get them.


You can order the entire Christmas dinner for your family at Lawry’s The Prime Rib, but let me highlight the appetizer and side dish options. We are talking Prime Rib Chili, the world famous spinning bowl salad, house-made stuffing, potato chips, and creamed spinach, and mashed potatoes and gravy. Oh, and don’t forget their dessert options. You can split their pies up and make dessert trays to serve as appetizers as well.


La Madeleine has a new seasonal take-out menu. The Café Sampler offers a great way to give your guest a taste of lots of different finger sized foods. Try the Turkey Cranberry & Swiss Friand. It’s a baked puff pastry filled with smoked turkey, dried cranberries and Swiss, and served with a side of Gruyère cheese sauce. Choose a soup and a salad like the Classic Caesar Salade, Cranberry & Pecan Wild Field Salade, Strawberry & Bacon Spinach Salade or the Tomato Basil Pesto Pasta Salade. Ruth’s Chris Steak House “Ruth’s Sides To Go” was created for this season. The menu includes some of their most popular recipes like their creamed spinach and sweet potato casserole. This special menu is available through Dec. 24. Orders must be placed by calling Ruth’s Chris at 972-250-2244, and they must be made at least 48 hours in advance.
