Corridor Holiday Party Styles

Reindeer antlers, shimmery dresses, velvet sports coats and anything else dramatic and statement worthy are in right now. Holiday party season is your excuse to dress a little extra (definition: over-the-top or glamorous), and we have you covered. Here are a few of our favorite styles to make you look picture perfect at your next get-together!
Everyone Loves Velvet
Velvet is winter’s most popular fabric, so embrace it! Wear a gorgeous velvet dress, like this deep blue Tadashi Shoji cocktail dress from Neiman Marcus, which features sexy lace sleeves and sides, a deep V-neck and a slit up one leg. Or wear a velvet top with jeans, like this Christmas tree-green 3/4-sleeved top from Nordstrom. Love this material? Go from head-to-toe velvet with a festive jumpsuit, like this black velvet jumpsuit from Ann Taylor, which is sleeveless and features a satin, self-tie belt around the waist.
Shine Brightly
Out-sparkle the lights this holiday season when you show up wearing one of these sequin numbers! Zara inside Galleria Dallas has many glittery dresses, like this sleeveless gold sequin dress with a striking open back or this long-sleeved, large-sequined blue dress with a short hemline that is definitely not work-party appropriate. Switch it up with an all-over shimmery jumpsuit, like this multi-colored sleeveless one from Nordstrom that shows off your curves in a playful way. For a more conservative party, wear this elegant black sequin jacket from Neiman Marcus (featuring flowers in muted winter colors like blue, violet and olive) over an all-black dress or pantsuit.
Embrace Accessories
During party season, no look is complete without accessories. In addition to your favorite earrings, necklace and bracelets, add a festive brooch to your ensemble. We love this Jose and Maria Barrera crystal brooch from Neiman Marcus, which features a beautiful display of clear and black Austrian crystals. Also, make a statement with your shoes. Manolo Blahnik’s are always a good choice, especially these Santa-red ones that feature a gorgeous crystal buckle.  Finish your outfit with a merry accessory, like reindeer antlers or this Christmas cat headband from Francesca’s, with gold sparkle ears and a tiny Santa hat on top.
Don’t Forget the Men
Guys, skip your traditional business attire and get in the holiday spirit by dressing festively as well. Tim Leamy, owner of Sebastian’s Closet, says, “No matter how serious or casual the party is, a finishing piece is a must!” He recommends a suit that is dark and elegant or one that has a bold, unexpected pattern. “The party sport coat should not look like you are going to the office,” he added. This means something dressier, like velvet or with a satin lapel. Or layer a dark turtleneck under the suit or a sport coat for a unique flair. Another option is to wear a leather jacket or a solid cashmere or fine merino wool sweater. Finally, accessorize! Wear pocket squares in your suit or sport coat and a dressy scarf in fun colors like emerald, wine, aqua, espresso or sapphire.
Once you are dressed up, you can just relax, have fun and enjoy this wonderful time of year!
