There’s less than two weeks left until Christmas, which means it’s peak shopping time! While you are out getting gifts for your loved ones this Saturday, take a break to watch a free figure skating show at Galleria Dallas at 6 p.m.! This show will feature 2018 Canadian Olympic gold medalists Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford.
Duhamel and Radford captured their sixth consecutive Canadian title in 2017, breaking the all-time record and becoming one of the most decorated pair teams in Canadian history, according to Skate Canada’s website. Some of their famous moves include “stunning death spirals and quad throws,” making every one of their performances exciting to watch.
The skating event is part of Galleria Dallas’s Grand Tree Lighting Show, which attracts thousands of fans. In addition to the performance by the talented Olympians, the audience will also be treated to an ice-skating, back-flipping pyrotechnic Santa, performances on the ice by local children, a fireworks finale and the lighting of the Christmas tree—the tallest indoor Christmas tree in the world! Afterward, you can meet the Canadian stars and let them know what you thought of their performance.
Can’t make it this Saturday? Another 2018 Canadian Olympic gold medalist, Patrick Chan, will be performing on Dec. 22 at 6 p.m. for the last Grand Tree Lighting Celebration of the year.
After the show, visit Santa in his new village on Level 1, complete with beautiful decorations and Christmas lights. This Saturday, he will be greeting kids from 9 a.m.-10 p.m.! Of course, Galleria Dallas is a great place to finish your holiday shopping, as the iconic shopping center has more than 200 retailers, restaurants and experiences including a flagship Belk, Nordstrom, Macy’s, the world’s only GAP, Banana Republic and Old Navy combo anchor, a market-exclusive American Girl, the Westin Galleria Dallas Hotel and the signature Galleria Ice Skating Center.
Add a little magic to your weekend plans by seeing this amazing holiday show—you won’t be disappointed!
