Rainy Day Activities in the Corridor

The familiar squish, squish of your boots on the puddle-filled sidewalk signals the start of another delightfully dreary rainy day in the Corridor! And the rain isn’t going anywhere—in fact, this has been the wettest fall on record for the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, according to the National Weather Service. So what do you do on downpour days? Keep reading for our best tips on rainy day activities in the Corridor!

See a Show

Stay dry by seeing a show on a gloomy day! A Star is Born, The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwaldand more are showing at AMC Village on the Parkway 9 and Look Cinemas this month. For live entertainment, stop by WaterTower Theatre to see the dramatic thriller, A Doll’s House, until Nov. 4; or catch Steve Byrne, an international comedian who has appeared on several television shows and movies including his own Netflix special, from Nov. 1-3 at the Addison Improv.

Stay Active

It’s easy to get restless when it’s too wet to go on your normal running or biking route. Stay active by finding ways to have fun indoors. Gather a group of friends or a date and head to Bowlmor, where bowling is just one of the many activities available. You can also challenge the group to a game of billiards, laser tag, air hockey, arcade games and more—all while sipping on your favorite alcoholic beverage! Or, visit Pure Swing Golf, where you can keep your swing strong by practicing in their indoor facility with the latest technology and trained coaches.

Enjoy Warm Drinks and Food

A hot drink on a cold, rainy day will warm your spirit faster than you can say “Pumpkin Spice Latte!” Grab your favorite book and order a tasty Pumpkin Pie Latte or Hot Loose Leaf Tea at Dunn Brothers Coffee for a cozy and relaxing afternoon. In the evening, hang out at Astoria Caffe and Wine Bar, where you can heat up the night with a delicious spiked coffee, like the Cinnamon Roll Cappuccino with Pinnacle Whipped Vodka! Finally, make the most of a rainy day by treating yourself to a night off of cooking. Stop by Kenny’s Italian Kitchen on your way home and pick up a steaming plate of lasagna, spaghetti and “Midnight” Meatballs or chicken parmigiana to enjoy from the comfort of your own dining room. After a day like this, you’ll start wishing it rained every day!
