Christmas at the Galleria

Christmas at the Galleria would make even Ebenezer Scrooge believe in magic! It’s the most wonderful time of the year – kids are making their wish lists for Santa, adults are enjoying festive coffees and treats while holiday shopping and strands of lights are twinkling in the night – and the holiday spirit is in full swing at Galleria Dallas. Stop by in the next few weeks to make unique holiday memories with loved ones.

“Galleria Dallas is such a magical place during the holiday season,” explained Director of Marketing Martha Hinojosa. “The entire center is resplendent with beautiful holiday décor, and for so many north Texans, the Galleria Dallas Christmas tree is truly the symbol of the season.”

Millions of people from all over the country visit the Galleria to see its Christmas tree, which is the tallest indoor tree in the U.S. standing at 95 feet tall! It is currently fully decorated and located in the middle of the ice-skating rink, featuring 10,000 glass ball ornaments, more than 400,000 sparkling LED lights and a 10-foot LED star custom-designed for the center. It is the most photographed symbol of the holiday season in the region, and it takes a team of more than 50 people three days to put it up.

On Nov. 17, Santa Claus is coming to town! He’ll be stationed at his new village, located on Level 1 near Banana Republic. Unlike previous years when Santa was in the middle of the shopping center, the Man in Red will now have his own quieter space to make meeting children an even more wonderful experience.

Beginning on Black Friday, Nov. 23, Galleria Dallas will kick off a season of six spectacular Grand Tree Lighting Celebrations! All of these free shows will feature Missile Toes, Galleria’s ice-skating, back-flipping, pyrotechnic Santa Claus along with performances by local children and Olympic, World and National champion skaters. See 2014 Olympic gold medalists Meryl Davis and Charlie White at noon Nov. 23 and 6 p.m. Nov. 24; 2011 U.S. Men’s National Champion Ryan Bradley at 6 p.m. Dec. 1; 2014 Olympic team bronze medalist and four-time U.S. National Champion Jeremy Abbott at 6 p.m. Dec. 8; 2018 Canadian Pair Champions and 2018 Olympic team gold medalists Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford at 6 p.m. Dec. 15; and 2018 Canadian Champion and 2018 Olympic team gold medalist Patrick Chan at 6 p.m. Dec. 22.

Other upcoming events include:

  • Nov. 17: A new pet adoption experience with DFW Rescue Me
  • Nov. 22: Galleria Dallas is reclaiming Thanksgiving and will be closed until Black Friday
  • Dec. 2: Hanukkah menorah lighting
  • Dec. 9 Santa Cares – a breakfast with Santa experience for families of special needs children.

Galleria Dallas is an iconic shopping center with a unique collection of more than 200 retailers, restaurants and experiences, including a flagship Belk, Nordstrom, Macy’s, the world’s only GAP, Banana Republic and Old Navy combo anchor, a market-exclusive American Girl, the Westin Galleria Dallas Hotel and the signature Galleria Ice Skating Center.

If you want to make the most out of this holiday season, Galleria Dallas has everything you need. An afternoon spent here is sweeter than candy canes – and will fill you with Christmas cheer for weeks!
