Addison-based Curantis Solutions Announces Palliative Care Solution

Helping people through the use of innovative technology is what Addison-based Curantis Solutions, LLC, is all about. In fact, the company recently announced a palliative care solution that will enable patients to receive better care at home. In turn, this will enable palliative care providers to deliver the best care while stewarding valuable resources.

“Because palliative care typically involves many high-cost services, documentation of patient needs and care, it is paramount for the care team to monitor the patient’s condition,” said John Carreker, Curantis chief executive officer in a recent press release. “Our solution facilitates this complex process for ease of use by the entire care team and enables them to capture and manage key analytics.”

According to the Center to Advance Palliative Care, palliative care is “specialized medical care for people with serious illness. This type of care is focused on providing relief from the symptoms and stress of a serious illness. The goal is to improve quality of life for both the patient and the family.”

Curantis Solutions is a software solutions company focused exclusively on serving the hospice and palliative care sector. Like its hospice care solution, which is now in use across several U.S. markets, its palliative care solution is an “innovative and integrated cloud-based managed software solution designed by caregivers for caregivers,” according to the press release. It supports the care process and gives caregivers a single look and feel on a smartphone, tablet or desktop. If a patient needs to transition to hospice care, Curantis’ hospice care solution retains all patient demographic information, which will significantly reduce data input requirements. In other words, save time and allow caregivers to focus more on the patients.

“The palliative care industry faces numerous challenges,” stated Denise Stamos, RN, MSN, Curantis chief nursing and product officer, in the press release. “The supply of palliative care falls far short of the need, leaving too many sufferers without access; our solution makes delivery of palliative care timely, efficient and cost-effective. Also, the industry is deficient in relevant quality care measures as indicated by the recent announcement that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services are investing $5.5 million in developing better measures. Our solution’s analytics component will be essential for measuring and reporting quality performance indicators.”

Debi Newton, Curantis chief sales officer and head of business development, added in the release, “Because palliative care is one of the fastest growing services in healthcare, its providers need a purpose-built solution, not one re-architected to loosely fit palliative care needs.”

Curantis Solutions is dedicated to advancing care through innovation. Its mission is “to give hospice and palliative caregivers the tools, support and confidence they need to provide excellent patient care.” Through its comprehensive software solutions, its deep understanding of caregivers’ challenges and its constant innovation, Curantis enables caregivers to work more efficiently while adhering to the highest standards of compliance and care.

Congratulations to Curantis on this outstanding work to help the palliative care industry! We can’t wait to see what you continue to do in the future.
