WaterTower Theatre will debut “A Doll’s House” on the Main Stage Theatre starting Oct. 12 through Nov. 4. WaterTower Theatre’s adaptation by Joanie Schultz will feature Kate Paulsen, Sam Henderson, Gloria Benavides, Clay Wheeler, Brian Mathis and Ivy Opdyke.
“A Doll’s House” is the story about Nora and Torvald Helmer; they are the perfect couple living a storybook life. According to WaterTower’s press release, “Nora has been paying off a secret debt, obtained through forging a signature, which saved her husband’s life. When Torvald is back in good health and has garnered a promotion at the bank, his first order of business is to fire the man who confidentially loaned Nora the money. Confronted with shame and blackmail, Nora is pushed to expose her secret to Torvald, but the true revelation might just be that their lives are not their own.”
The play was written by Henrik Ibsen, and through WaterTower Theatre’s Artistic Director, Joanie Schultz, Ibsen’s immortal words have been put into a mighty 90-minute thriller for today’s audience. The creative team, includes Chelsea M. Warren as Scenic Designer, Sylvia Fuhrken as Costume Designer, Driscoll Otto as Lighting Designer, Brian McDonald as Sound Designer, and Hillary Colazzo Abbott as Properties Designer, with Assistant Director Debbie Ruegsegger, Caron Gitelman Grant as Production Stage Manager and Hannah Wilson as Assistant Stage Manager.
