“A Lovely Goodbye” At The Stone Cottage Theatre

Saying “goodbye” is never easy. Especially when three of the most important things in your life are all ending at once. Step into the world of Lovely Uranus this summer, a drag queen who is struggling with relationships, work and life in the Stone Cottage Theatre’s world premiere of “A Lovely Goodbye” by Alejandro de la Costa.

“The Lovely Goodbye” is about Uranus, a famous Dallas drag queen, and the problems he’s going through. He fell in love with a man named Keith, who is unfortunately already in a relationship. He also loves his job at a club, but it’s closing and he’s having a hard time finding a new job. In addition, his favorite brand of mascara is being discontinued, and it is impossible to find a suitable replacement! Finally, he has developed some serious health issues, which may prevent him from doing what he loves most (drag!) ever again!

This funny, heartbreaking and extremely entertaining play will be showing at Stone Cottage Theatre at the Addison Conference and Theatre Center from July 26 through August 12. Show times will be at 8 p.m. Thursdays – Saturdays, as well as a special Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. on August 12. Make sure to leave the kids at home, as “The Lovely Goodbye” is rated NC17 due to language, male nudity and adult situations.

Tickets are available online, ranging from $20 to $40 depending on the night of the show, by calling 214-477-4942, or at the theatre box office 30 minutes before curtain time. If you purchase online or through the phone, you can pick up your tickets at the box office before the show. And if you are a KERA member, you can get a buy one get one free ticket (for a maximum of four tickets) at most of Stone Cottage Theatre’s shows. Call the box office for more information.
