Addison Kaboom Town! Lights up the Night July 3

Red, white and blue may be the colors of Independence Day, but at Addison Kaboom Town!, every hue in the rainbow will light up the night sky during the massive fireworks show! That’s not the only thing that Addison Kaboom Town! does better. You will also see a spectacular air show, enjoy a carnival of games for the whole family, and hang out at many area restaurants offering watch parties. There may be pops and bangs at other neighboring Fourth of July events, but huge kabooms will be heard all over the North Dallas Corridor from this event that has been named among the top fireworks shows in the country. So put on your most patriotic clothes and come hang out with us at Addison Circle on July 3 starting at 4 p.m.

The fireworks are the main event, but there are plenty of things to do while waiting. Explore the carnival, complete with a Ferris wheel, whirly rides and more, test your luck at one of the many Midway games and keep the kids entertained by getting their faces painted. You can also enjoy live music starting at 5 p.m. with the presentation of colors with the Civil Air Patrol, followed by the 36thID Band at 5:30 p.m., The Dallas Winds at 8 p.m. and Emerald City at 10 p.m. You can also enjoy food and drinks from many onsite vendors.

Free parking is available at Millennium Garage, Colonnade Garage and Addison Circle One and Two Garages. Or leave the car at home at take a Lyft to the event! Use the special code (KABOOM18) for a $20 ride credit to Addison Kaboom Town!

Also, for everyone’s safety, keep in mind that bags exceeding 12” x 12” x 6”, computers or laptops, fireworks, sparkles, laser pointers, oversized chairs, bicycles, skateboards, scooters, rollerblades, knives, open beverages and animals (other than certified service animals) are not allowed. However, you may bring collapsible chairs and personal umbrellas, small coolers and bags, picnic food and snacks and other items. A full list can be found here.

If you want to watch the fireworks show at your favorite restaurants, many are offering their own entertainment before the fireworks as well. Addison Point Sports Grill will have an outdoor DJ, face painting and balloon animals, with karaoke after the fireworks. Bitter Sisters Brewery will have games to go along with their delicious craft beer and tasty eats. Catino Laredo is hosting an outdoor party complete with bounce houses and a live band. Chamberlain’s Fish Market Grill will offer a three-course dinner with private viewing party (reservations required). Meso Maya will have drink specials from 3–6 p.m. including $5 house margaritas, wine, wells and select beer, queso and guacamole. Table 13 will offer 25 percent off the dinner menu beginning at 4 p.m., with live music. Many more restaurants and bars will offer their own parties and entertainment, with a full list available here.

One of the best parts of the night is the Addison Airport Air Show, which will begin at 7:15 p.m.! You will see Jack Pyland and the Red River Skydivers open the show, followed by a few aerobatic acts. These include Mike Gallway, Extra 300; Chet Kuhn, Pitts S-1T; Randy Henderson, Taylorcraft BC-12D “Texas T-cart”; and Gene Soucy Showcat, Grumman Biplane. Next up will be the non-aerobatic day flights, including Eric Stroud, T-37 Tweet and flights by the Cavanaugh Flight Museum, who may fly their PT-17 Stearman, PT-19 Cornell, CV-2 Caribou or the C-47, OV-1 Mohawk, AD-5 Skyraider, FM-2 Wildcat or P-51 Mustang. Next up will be Night Flights by Gene Soucy Airshows, and ending with Airboss from George Cline.

 Finally, the main event will arrive: the fireworks! The Addison Kaboom Town! fireworks show will begin promptly at 9:30 p.m. They will be launched from the South end of the Addison Airport runway, west of Addison Circle Park, and can be seen from anywhere in Addison. Keep in mind, Addison Kaboom Town! is a free event, but space is limited so get there early for best seating. You can also book a hotel package—and avoid the after-fireworks traffic! Packages include guaranteed admission to the Addison Circle watch party, an Addison roll-up picnic blanket, Addison restaurant coupons and 10 Tasty Bucks for food and drinks at the event. These can be booked online here, and include 15 different hotels to choose from!

Addison Kaboom Town! has been hosted by the Town of Addison for more than three decades and has been named the number two Indpendence Day fireworks display by Yahoo.com. It was also ranked as one of the top 10 fireworks displays in the country by USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, Travel + Leisure Magazine and the American Pyrotechnic Association. Addison is home to more than 180 restaurants, 24 hotels, more than 12 million square feet of office space, upscale retail and world-class special events in a 4.4 square mile urban enclave.
