Metrocrest Community Clinic Changes Name

Names are important — they create meaning, individuality and recognition. In order to better reflect its values, the former Metrocrest Community Clinic recently underwent a name and brand change. It is now called Woven Health Clinic.

Woven Health Clinic focuses on chronic disease management, disease prevention, women’s health and becoming a patient-centered medical home. Because it weaves together comprehensive, prevention-focused healthcare (both physical and mental) to treat the entire person, it decided to change its name. Also, this change will help set the clinic apart from other entities in Farmers Branch, Carrollton and Addison with names similar to the old Metrocrest Community Clinic.

According to it’s website, “The Clinic changed its name to Woven Health Clinic out of a belief that the healthcare services it provides are woven inextricably into the fabric of the community it serves.”

The primary care services offered at Woven Health Clinic include wellness exams, minor ear, nose and throat problems, diabetes, asthma, hypertension, high cholesterol, thyroid disorders, eye inflammation, allergies, respiratory infections, influenza, UTI, skin rashes and flu symptoms. Prevention services include health assessments, immunizations, cancer and disease screenings, lab work/testing, weight loss, tobacco cessation and nutrition therapy.

The women’s health services offered include well women exams, prescriptions for birth control pills, Depo shot, menopause treatment, PCOS, nutrition therapy, sexually transmitted disease testing, mammograms, cancer screenings, menstrual disorders and vaginitis.

For mental health services, Woven Health Clinic has partnered with UT Southwestern Medical Center to implement its VitalSign6 – a renowned, proven, measurement-based program to screen, diagnose and treat depression. The clinic offers the following mental health services: depression, anxiety, stress management, mindfulness techniques, cognitive behavior therapy, behavior activation therapy, sleep hygiene, tele-therapy with a UT Southwestern Medical Center psychologist or LCSW and exercise prescription for depression.

In addition to the new name, Woven Health Clinic received new signage at the clinic reflecting it’s new name and logo, as well as an updated website and social media accounts.

For more than 25 years, the former Metrocrest Community Clinic has more than 25,000 patients in the community. Woven Health Clinic is a 501(c)(3) community healthcare clinic with a mission “to provide affordable, quality, patient-centric healthcare focused on wellness and preventing disease to those uninsured or underinsured.” It is located at 1 Medical Parkway, Suite 149, in Farmers Branch.
