Butterfly Gardening in the Community

Learn how to create a butterfly habitat

Do you love nature? Does being out and about and around beautiful butterflies make you feel happy? If so, there is an event coming up that is just for you.

On January 22, 2018 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m., there will be butterfly gardening at the Surveyor Water Tower on 4000 Arapaho Road in Addison Texas. The event is completely free to the public.

Butterflies are extremely important to our ecosystem. They help to pollinate plants and bring the world around them alive with movement and activity. At this event, you will learn how to create a butterfly habitat by learning how to select the right plants for caterpillars, and introducing feeders and a water source. Experts will show you the perfect native and adapted flowers that help provide long-lasting blooms as nectar sources.

Parking is limited so plan to get there with plenty of time. Across the street at Surveyor Pump Station, there will be overflow parking on the day of the event. The event planners ask that to please not park in the hotel parking lot across the street and carpool with other people if you can. If you have any questions or for information, contact Marissa Paz at 972-50-2818. Complete the form https://www.addisontexas.net/index.php?section=calendar&evtid=1491 to RSVP.
