Heart Hospital Baylor Plano

Your heart is in good hands – at least, it will be if it ever needs heart surgery. That’s because the Heart Hospital Baylor Plano was recently ranked number 16 in the nation in Cardiology and Heart Surgery, according to the U.S. News and World Report’s 28th Annual Best Hospitals ranking. It was also rated “High Performing” in five adult procedures/conditions including abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, aortic valve surgery, heart bypass surgery, heart failure and lung cancer surgery.

According to a recent press release, “The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano’s national recognition is due, in part, to its dedication to quality enabling consistent, impressive patient outcomes. Additionally, research trials pursue innovative treatments and therapies for cardiovascular patients. With this foundation, The Heart Hospital will continue to provide quality patient care and transform cardiovascular medicine.”

The ranking was based on more than 75 measures of care, including risk-adjusted survival and readmission rates, volume, patient experience, patient safety and quality of nursing and more.

This year, 152 hospitals were ranked for their performance and reputation across 16 adult medical specialties. The U.S. News and World Report analysis of hospitals includes data form more than 4,500 medical centers across multiple clinical specialties, procedures and conditions.

In the ten years that The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano has been open, it has earned numerous awards for surgery, patient satisfaction, nursing staff and more. In the summer of 2016, The Heart Hospital began an expansion project to add a new North Tower, in order for the hospital to enhance its ability to provide innovative, quality care to the communities it serves. This tower will offer 28 private outpatient guest suites, relocated and expanded cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, a suite dedicated to cardiovascular research, an expansion suite (including a bio-skills lab, education rooms and a 200-seat auditorium), and expanded atrium-style first floor lobby with a café and expanded restaurant-style dining.

Congratulations to the surgeons and staff at the Heart Hospital Baylor Plano on receiving this outstanding ranking. It’s good to know that our hearts will always be taken care of by people who care!
