Texas de Brazil Charity Luncheon

If you haven’t had a chance to stop by Texas de Brazil in Addison to donate to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, you have one last chance to help out – Texas de Brazil is hosting a charity luncheon to mark the end of the month-long fundraising efforts from all locations. The Addison-based restaurant is inviting everyone to this fun event, taking place at Texas de Brazil in Dallas on October 21 at 12:30p.m.

The charity luncheon will feature a rodizio-style menu, caipirinhas and sangria, and delicious dessert. Also, guests can bid on exclusive prizes, and watch as Texas de Brazil presents the team at St. Jude with the total funds raised from the campaign.

“Each year, thousands of Texas de Brazil guests nationwide support our month-long fundraising campaign for the extraordinary St. Jude organization,” said Salim Asrawi, chief operating officer for Texas de Brazil. “We are honored to have the ability to help make an impact through the generous donations of our patrons. Hosting this luncheon event in Texas de Brazil’s ‘hometown’ of Dallas is special for us, and provides a great finale to this annual initiative. We look forward to inviting the Dallas dining community in every year to celebrate the generous spirit of all those who have donated in support of St. Jude, with exceptional rodizio-style food and drink. It is an outstanding opportunity for guests to witness, first-hand, how this partnership continuously impacts the fight against childhood cancer and other life-threatening illnesses, and to help add to the funds raised for this worthy cause.”

The lunch includes a bountiful salad area filled with hot and cold selections. After you’ve eaten your greens, the main course will be served, featuring churrasco grilled meats served tableside and prepared the authentic gaucho way (meaning over an open flame using natural wood charcoal that produces a deeper, more intense flavor). Satisfy your sweet tooth by drinking the fruity sangria or refreshing capirinhas, and choosing between Bananas Foster Pie or Key Lime Pie for dessert.

Tickets to the event are $40 a person, and available online now.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is dedicated to its life saving mission: “Finding cures. Saving children.® ” This nonprofit is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. It is the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center that is devoted solely to children. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to 80 percent since the hospital opened more than 50 years ago, and it is currently working to raise that number to 90 percent (although it won’t stop until no child dies from cancer). St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists around the world can use that knowledge to save more children. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food.
