Darker Hair for Fall

By on October 6, 2017

Just one shade darker can add dimension to your hair

It all started when I was sitting in a salon chair at Beauty Brands, waiting for my hair stylist, Cameron, to mix up the light blonde color to freshen up my highlights. Instead, she suggested something that changed my world – “Why don’t you go a little darker for fall?” That one sentence made me re-evaluate my current hair care routine, which was getting the same light blonde highlights every season. I decided to give it a try to see what would happen. Spoiler alert: I ended up loving it!

Having darker hair makes the season much more low maintenance. It blends in with my roots more, which means fewer salon appointments. And it complements my paler fall skin tone better than the lighter color. Also, it looks more natural, and the slightly darker, warm honey color looks outstanding in fall pictures (if I do say so myself!)

Adding a few lowlights or darker blonde highlights to your hair instead of your normal platinum locks isn’t the only way to go darker for fall – brunettes, redheads, and everyone in between can take advantage of this look as well. Just go a shade darker than you normally do. This will add some dimension to your hair, cover up any damage leftover from the summer, allow you to try new shades of eye shadow and lipstick, look great with darker fall clothes, and create a fun change for the season!

Stop by Beauty Brands in Addison to book a highlight or lowlight, a total color treatment with a permanent Redken color, or a high gloss treatment that will enhance natural color or refresh faded color with a shine-boosting semi-permanent treatment from Redken.

Or make an appointment at Grand Spa in Addison to have your highlights or color done. Also, take advantage of October’s special. This month, you can have a Keratherapy treatment done for $199 (regular $300). This keratin therapy can be done to all hair types, and it will help your dark color last longer, eliminate frizz, and make blow-drying, flat ironing and hair styling up to fifty percent faster!

I didn’t regret going darker for fall for one second, and you won’t either! This season, reinvent yourself with darker locks. You will feel more confident, look amazing and be glad you did.
