Mixing Gold and Silver Accessories

Don’t be afraid to mix the two metals

Batman or Superman, cats or dogs, chocolate or vanilla – these are some of the many choices in life that people have debated on for years. In the fashion world, one of the greatest arguments has always been between silver and gold, which is a nearly impossible decision if you love jewelry as much as I do. This fall, don’t limit yourself to one choice. It’s time to mix metals and wear your silver and gold accessories at the same time! Here are a few tips to get you started.

Focus On One Type of Jewelry

One way to stylishly mix metals is by focusing on one type of jewelry at a time. Instead of wearing a gold necklace and a silver bracelet, wear gold and silver bracelets on the same arm (and introduce a third color for an even bolder affect)! Mariloff Diamonds and Fine Jewelry has beautiful 18-karat gold bracelets in yellow gold, white gold and rose gold. Each one has round brilliant cut diamonds around the band for a sparkly, sophisticated look. Stack these up on your arm for a classy mixed metal look that you will love.

Wear One Piece With Both Metals

Another easy way to rock this trend is by wearing one statement piece that incorporates both metals. We love this Kendra Scott Rayne Stone Tassel Pendant available at Nordstrom. It is made with a beautiful gold chain connected to a silver stone pendant. Underneath the pendant is a tassel of shimmering gold chains. This elegant piece is perfect on it’s own, or it can be paired with complementing silver or gold bracelets and earrings.

Mix Metals in Accessories and Jewelry

A third option for wearing silver and gold at the same time is to make sure your accessories feature one metal and your jewelry is the opposite metal. For example, wear this beautiful Fendi purse available from Neiman Marcus. This all-over gold purse features gold flowers on the front and a gold chain that goes around your shoulder, which will make you feel like a goddess. Make it stand out even more by pairing it with silver earrings and a bracelet.
