Picture this: your plate is piled high with steak, sausage, chicken, ribs and lamb, while waiters come around offering unlimited more meat so you can stuff yourself to your heart’s content. Make this dream dinner a reality this weekend! If you are looking for an excuse to go out on a date night or take the family out to dinner to enjoy the end of summer, there is no better way than by eating a celebratory meal at Addison-based Texas de Brazil at 15101 Addison Road in Addison – where meat is served during the first, second and third courses! As an added bonus, you will have the opportunity to donate money to help find cures for childhood cancer and other diseases because Texas de Brazil is campaigning to raise money for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital every day in August.

“St. Jude has helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 to 80 percent since the hospital opened nearly 50 years ago, and they won’t stop until no child dies from cancer,” said Salim Asrawi, chief operating officer of Texas de Brazil, in a recent press release. “Thanks to generous individual contributions, no family is presented a bill for treatment, travel, housing and food, because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. With the big-hearted support of our guests, we are proud to help St. Jude provide life-saving treatments and services for children fighting cancer and other life-threatening diseases.”

While dining at Texas de Brazil, patrons will have the opportunity to contribute any dollar amount directly to St. Jude at the bottom of the guest checks. On Tuesdays through Sundays, guests who donate $5 or more can earn a matching-value gift certificate to Texas de Brazil. Also, if you dine and donate on Mondays, guests will receive a gift certificate equaling twice the value of donations made. Both options have a maximum earning potential of a $50 gift certificate, and are valid for future visits. In addition, Texas de Brazil will match donations up to $25,000 and no purchase is necessary.

Donating is always a good thing to do, but when you also receive a Texas de Brazil gift card with your donation, you can’t afford not to give! And if you are a fan of great food (you live in Addison, so we know you are!) than you will have a wonderful time at Texas de Brazil. Start off your dinner with a trip to the salad bar, where you can choose from about 50 seasonal items including house-made salad dressings, gourmet bread, imported cheeses, steamed asparagus, Brazilian hearts of palm, grilled Portobello mushrooms, imported Italian salamis, spicy surimi sushi, soup du jour and so much more.

Next, side items will be brought to your table to complement the meat, including garlic mashed potatoes, sweet fried bananas and Brazilian cheese bread. Just make sure you don’t fill up on carbs or veggies though, because you will want to save room for the many delicious offerings of grilled meats on skewers that are sliced directly onto your plate. Regular meats like filet mignon and flank steak are available, as well as more unique offerings like leg of lamb and Brazilian sausage. Specific meats may vary by location and hours. Wash it down with wine from the restaurant’s award-winning wine list. Finally, finish the meal with a sweet treat, such as Brazilian cheesecake of flan, chocolate mousse cake, coconut chess pie, key lime pie and more.

Texas de Brazil is a family-owned authentic churrascaria (Brazilian steakhouse) that features a continuous dining experience, blending the unique culture of Brazil with the generous hospitality of Texas. Founded in Addison in 1998, Texas de Brazil now has 53 domestic and international locations.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital opened more than 50 years ago and is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. It is the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center devoted solely to children. Every discovery made at St. Jude’s is freely shared, and every child saved means doctors and scientists around the world can use that knowledge to save thousands more children. St. Jude’s motto is: “Finding cures, saving children,” and it won’t stop until no child dies from cancer anymore.

One night this week, treat yourself and your family or friends to lunch or dinner at Texas de Brazil. And don’t forget to donate a little extra money to St. Jude while you’re there. Let’s be honest, you have to eat every day anyway, so you might as well eat mouth-watering meats and sides and help out kids at the same time. We are so excited that Texas de Brazil has decided to support this wonderful cause; and we are looking forward to seeing how much money the company and our community can raise to help defeat childhood cancer!
