Summer Art Festival at The Artists Showplace Gallery

The Artists Showplace Gallery is “a hidden gem conveniently located in North Dallas.” Featuring an extensive selection of artwork from painters to sculptors, jewelers to modern masters, it houses hundreds of exquisite pieces in its 12,000 square foot space. And if you can’t find what you’re looking for, their artist are more than accepting of custom orders for original works.

Want to learn more? Why not head over this Friday, August 11th, at 6:00 PM for the Summer Art Festival.

The Summer Art Festival, hosted by The Artists Showplace Gallery, is a great way to wind down and relax before summer comes to a close. The event commences with an opening reception, where guests can indulge in light refreshments, wine and appetizers, all whilst perusing incredible artwork.

Additionally, guests will have the unique opportunity to celebrate the season with three contemporary artists, Randy Jacobs, Kathy Metcalf, Christina Yielding, and book sculptor Keith Kriegel. Until 9:00 PM, North Dallas residents can not only speak with the talented individuals, but also watch live demonstrations, including a book carving demo.

For those unfamiliar, and to provide a small sneak peek of the evening activities, Kriegel carves his page turners with a surgical blade – as a local dentist, he’s a fan of precision and fine detail. Along similar lines, Christina Yielding takes pride in her innovative techniques, using scrapers other than brushes to complete a number of masterpieces.

If you’re looking for an excuse to get out and hit the town, or in search of a low key activity with close friends and family, look no further than The Summer Art Festival.

And for those residents who are unable to make it to opening night, luckily for us, the Summer Art Festival runs through Thursday, August 31st!
