Fall Trends to Look For

Jewel tones and patterns will be popular this fall

In this sweltering heat, it seems as if the fall season will never arrive. But regardless of the brutally hot temperatures, it’s time to free your sweaters and booties from the closet and shop for new pieces that will complement the approaching season.

So what fresh, adorable trends are we excited to see this fall?

“We are definitely seeing a lot of florals for the upcoming season,” said Ashley Lovell, an employee at Francesca’s boutique in Addison. But instead of seeing pastel floral patterns that you are bombarded with during the springtime, this  fall print will incorporate more navy, olive and jewel tones.

Other fall trends that will go hand-in-hand with your Pumpkin Spice Latte are graphic tees, distressed jeans, and light-colored booties.

“A lot of this season’s fashion is inspired by that Stevie Nicks, boho-chic vibe,” said Liz Dickey, store manager at Altar’d State in the Galleria. “One example of this is a plaid blouse with tassels and lace trim.”

The cold-shoulder tops are also “creeping” back into the stores, she added, but these items are made with a heavier material that suites the colder temperatures.

As for other popular colors this fall – can you say bright red and blush?

“Blush is a color that complements everyone with every different skin tone,” explained Luisa Lukic, a representative at Chico’s store in Addison. “We are also seeing a lot of rust, copper and a light baby blue.”

Every great outfit needs accessories, right?

Rose gold jewelry and fashionable backpacks are now gracing the shelves at boutiques across Addison. “We are seeing a lot of simplicity” when it comes to accessories, Dickey explained, pointing at the delicate, layered necklaces and velvet chokers displayed at the front of the store.

With the perfect fall attire, you can definitely take on the season in style. Football tickets? Check. Pumpkin everything on the grocery list? Check. A fabulous wardrobe that will make you stand out? and CHECK!
