Where to Dance in the Corridor
Learning to dance with my fiancé before our wedding was the most frustrating, stressful, complicated and amazing experience we had ever had. After nailing a perfect first dance at our wedding, we love showing off our favorite moves every chance we get (hey, we can’t let those expensive lessons go to waste!) If you love dancing as much as we do, check out a few of these awesome places to bust a move in the North Dallas Corridor.
Located at 13740 Midway Road, Pura Salsa Events Dallas holds salsa and bachata social dances every second and fourth Friday of the month. Beginners and advanced salsa and bachata dancers come together to dance together. It’s only $10 for the event, or $15 if you want to add a lesson beforehand. It’s a great chance to refresh your dancing knowledge and have some fun!
Learn to dance ballroom, Latin, salsa, swing, argentine tango and country western at Studio 22 at 14902 Preston Road in Dallas. This studio offers more than 100 group dance classes, practice sessions every night and social parties. Memberships start at $69 per month. If you don’t want to commit to regular lessons, you can also join the Saturday Night Parties, $12 per person, for a fun chance to show off your favorite moves.
Make dancing part of your regular date night by eating at Arthur’s Prime Steaks and Seafood at 15175 Quorum Drive. Listen to soft music while eating delicious steak for the first part of the evening, and then head out to the dance floor to let loose with your partner as the bands play popular hits. It’s the perfect way to start the weekend.
Gloria’s serves spicy Latin cuisine every day, but the heat goes up on Friday and Saturday nights as it turns into a Latin nightclub. Dress up and dance the night away to live music from Havana NRG and DJ Ivan G, from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. With just a $10 entrance fee after 10 p.m. and some of the best margaritas in town, you can’t go wrong!
Sydni Ellis grew up in the great state of Texas, where she learned to love chips and salsa and hot weather. She has a master's degree in Journalism from the University of North Texas, and she currently works in the College Communications, Marketing and Outreach office at Richland College. Some of her passions include writing, traveling and re-reading the Harry Potter Series every chance she gets. In the spirit of spontaneity, Sydni lives her life with a pen in one hand and her video camera in the other; ready to capture the next great story.
