Where to Celebrate National Salsa Month!

May is National Salsa Month and Addison has you covered!

May is National Salsa Month thanks to Pace Foods who in 1997 celebrated its 50th anniversary and in return got a food holiday. It is said that salsa is outselling ketchup nowadays, and I can’t say that I disagree with that. Salsa is a big player in our home, it goes on practically everything, fried eggs, breakfast burritos, tacos, fried rice and grilled meats and of course tortilla chips. But if you can’t make it at home where can you find real salsa in Addison?

Chuy’s

With 10 signature sauces ranging from their mild tomatillo to the spicy but delicious Hatch Green Chile sauce. What’s more, Chuy’s even holds an annual Green Chile Festival celebrating the spicy pepper. Make sure to check it out and see how much heat you can handle. Check out Chuy’s website for the complete menu and when you visit, ask your server about the different sauces and how to pair them with the different dishes.

La Ventana Taqueria

La Ventana’s breakfast tacos have been exactly the type of morning pick-me-up that I’ve been missing. Add a touch of their green salsa and you got yourself a winner! Also, you can’t beat hanging out on their patio and enjoying one or 8 tacos, or chips and salsa with a cold drink.

Mesero

Mesero’s salsa offering is a strong one, choose from a variety of salsas like Pulla (roasted tomatillo, chile seco, garlic and salt), Pachi Pachi, De Mesa and Mesero. Ask your server for suggestions to go with your order. Whichever you choose, you will not be disappointed.

Gloria’s Latin Cuisine

While you wait for your meal at Gloria’s don’t sleep on their salsa and black bean dip. Packed with flavor and never-ending, not a bad combination. Sit at the bar and enjoy one of their signature margaritas while they refill your chip bowl and bring out more salsa.

Enjoy salsa month, and if you have more suggestions of where to find great salsa, please let us know in the comments section below.
