Love Taking Pictures? Try These Spots in Addison

Addison offers photo opts from parks to food to nightlife

We all love to take pictures, right? Or at least most of us spend a big chunk of our time taking pictures with our phones or those who take it some little more serious, nice cameras. Addison is already known as a place to be seen with its thriving nightlife (Gloria’s salsa nights, The Social House, Mercy Bar to name a few) but for those looking for the best photo opportunities do you know where to go to get that perfect shot?

The Blueprints at Addison Circle was Addison’s first piece of public art and sits in the traffic circle at the entrance to Addison Circle. The Blueprints provide an amazing background which either day or night. Staying inside the Addison Circle neighborhood, Addison Circle park. The park is the home for special events like Taste of Addison, Kaboom Town, Oktoberfest, and other events throughout the year. It features a pavilion, restrooms, public display fountains, water features, two stages, pergola, benches and off-street parking. A great park to take the children and take pictures of them playing or during one of the many events enjoying themselves.

Vitruvian Park is another park which hosts many events throughout the year. One of our favorite Christmas traditions has become coming out to see the lighted trees that Vitruvian Park has, in fact, a great friend of mine proposed to his girlfriend there and the backdrop of all the lighted trees made for some amazing pictures.

The Village on the Parkway has some nice spots where you can take some beautiful pictures. Walking around you’ll find benches and different sitting areas where you will find photographers taking pictures of prom dates and engaged couples. Also, here you’ll find Gloria’s Latin Cuisine, which every Friday and Saturday night turns into one of the hottest salsa venues in the area. It’s the place to be and be seen; they even have a professional photographer out taking pictures which go on to the Gloria’s Nightlife Facebook page.

With the current foodie trend, what better place to photograph our favorite meals than the dozens of restaurants in Addison.

With so many beautiful and different places offering unique backdrops, you will be hard-pressed to pick a favorite.
