Celebrate National Burger Month!
May is National Burger Month and we are doing our part to make sure we celebrate accordingly. Because there are several amazing burger places in Addison and the Corridor, what will follow is a rapid-fire list of amazing burgers and where to get them. Buckle up…this is going to be good!
Let’s start out with one of my favorite places, Snuffer’s. The burgers are always fresh and if you love poppy seed buns, you are going to really like this place. While they have several delicious burgers, I tend to rotate between the Fried Jalapeño Cheeseburger (Fried jalapeños, pepper jack cheese, spicy chipotle dressing, tomatoes and red onions), the Blue Cheese Bacon Burger (They had me at bacon) and the Dr Pepper BBQ Bacon Burger. Let me you, if you haven’t tried this burger, you are missing out on everything that Texas stands for! Dr Pepper-infused BBQ sauce, American cheese, pickles, diced red onions, mayo, Applewood smoked BACON strips and what goes great bacon? How about crispy bacon crumbles!
Next, Hopdoddy Burger Bar. Here is what you need to know, the beef here is amazing! I love spicy food so my go to is El Diablo. Angus beef patty, pepper jack cheese, habanero and serrano chiles, salsa roja, chipotle mayo, and veggies finish off this delicious burger. The old saying goes, “If you can’t stand the heat get out the kitchen.” Well, you don’t have to do that at Hopdoddy. Try the Buffalo Bill or the Magic Shroom, both burgers taste amazing and go great with one of their Oreo Cookie shakes.
JC’s Burger House is up next. Lots of options at JC’s ranging from their quarter pounders to the half-pound doubles with just about any topping you can think of. But if you are up for a challenge, sink your teeth into the Toddzilla. A triple meat, triple cheese monster; if you take the Toddzilla Challenge and conquer this beast will get gain you burger glory by getting your name and picture up on their wall of fame.
Finally, I must let you all in on a little secret. Do your food-soul a favor and stop by Pollo Regio on Preston across from Valley View Mall. While 90 percent of their menu is focused on rotisserie chicken; their charbroiled burger is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! It’s a half pound lean beef patty with ham, cheese, mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado and served with a jalapeño and french fries. Oh yeah, you can wash it down with a glass bottled Coke or Fanta. You will not be disappointed.
