Basics of Design for a Low Maintenance Lawn with Addison Arbor Foundation
Here in Texas, hot summers call for unique landscape designs, and the Addison Arbor Foundation is always game to help with our outdoor needs. This year, they’re proud to announce an upcoming, and free, event as part of the Education program – Basics of Design for a Low Maintenance Landscape.
The program takes place this coming Saturday, May 13th, with a presentation by Bonnie Reese. Reese is an awarding winning North Texas landscape designer and the operator of Beautiful Landscapes, a business that opened in 1982. Specializing in low maintenance, low water use, and nature friendly landscaping, her designs are “easily read and followed by do it yourselfers or your own professional installer,” reads her website. “She also has excellent recommendations for companies that can help you with your job should you need a referral.” With over 25 years of experience, and several awards under her belt, Reese is the ideal candidate when it comes to leading a program of this nature.
You can attend the program at the Addison Athletic Center, located at 3900 Beltway Drive, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. But don’t twiddle your green thumbs for too long, as space is in high demand and limited. Additionally, a Future Hands-On Design class will be offered by Bonnie and the Addison Arbor Foundation, and preference will be given to those who attend this concept class.
Reservations and Registration can be made at Eventbrite or at AddisonArbor.org by clicking on the link on the Welcome page.
The Addison Arbor Foundation was founded in 1995, and is a non-profit organization established for the purpose of raising funds for public parks projects, including landscaping and sculptural works, in Addison. The organization’s mission is to promote and enhance natural environments with the Town of Addison through landscaping, public art, and education.
So, let’s make an effort to change the way we look and design our yards!
