Mad Batter Baker Opens in Addison Circle
Everyone has a sweet tooth, and our favorite treats often become part of milestone celebrations. Birthday parties leave behind chocolate frosting on tabletops and clothing, a fresh baked cake helps to welcome a new neighbor and cookies guarantee we make it on Santa’s nice list. If you’re looking to whip up a new memory, head over to the Mad Batter Baker.
Before officially opening their doors on November 30th, Mad Batter Baker was a delivery-only business, “focused on cupcakes, appropriately dubbed ‘Cupcakes on Command’ that served the North Dallas area and its outlying suburbs,” says Nicole Margulies, co-owner and founder of the bakery. Eventually, “demand outstretched what one baker could supply, so I decided to open a brick and mortar bakery to showcase my product and increase capacity. So was born the Mad Batter Baker!”
Nicole and husband, Zachary, however, went the extra mile in order to meet members of the community and test new recipes. The week of Thanksgiving, the bakery had a soft opening where anyone coming into the location was treated to one free pastry in addition to one coffee or espresso drink of their choice. But their enthusiasm for the business is only one example of what sets them apart.
“Our menu is expansive and features cupcakes, pies and cakes, but also bread puddings, cinnamon rolls, macaroons, brionuts, tartlets, scones and more. We also have treats for customers with vegan, gluten-free and sugar-free needs,” says Margulies. The setting is also unique, with custom designs – by Margulies herself – on tabletops, counters and even some wall art.
It seems fitting that a business exuding originality would settle on a location in Addison. Margulies explained it was high on their list of a number of reasons including central location, daytime business population, and access to major thoroughfares. “This kind of community is conducive to a business like ours and has an incredibly friendly and supportive municipal system.”
I think it’s safe to assume we’ll be enjoying tasty treats at Mad Batter Baker for quite a while!
