Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano receives Press Ganey Beacon of Excellence Award
Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano was recently named a Press Ganey 2013 Beacon of Excellence Award winner for patient satisfaction. Awarded annually, the Beacon of Excellence Award – formerly the Summit Award – is one of Press Ganey’s most prestigious awards.
Press Ganey, an independent patient satisfaction firm, presents the Beacon of Excellence Award to health care organizations across the United States who have maintained consistently high levels of excellence for at least the past three consecutive years.
It is given to top performing organizations on the basis of extraordinary achievement in four categories: patient satisfaction, employee engagement, physician engagement and clinical quality performance.
“We are very proud to have been recognized for this award by Press Ganey, as it represents the hard work of our employees and our consistent commitment to the highest quality standards,” said Dr. Stephen Hadzima, Chief Medical Officer at Texas Health Plano. “I believe this award is a direct result of the evidence-based practices we have in place, staff engagement and effective communication strategies.”
For the patient satisfaction award, organizations are scored on data received from May 2010 to April 2013, gathered from several departments, including inpatient, emergency, ambulatory surgery, outpatient and medical practice care.
Texas Health Plano has been serving Plano and surrounding areas since 1991. An affiliate of faith-based nonprofit Texas Health Resources system, Texas Health Plano provides orthopedic, cardiovascular, oncology, pediatric, and women’s services care.
